I love everything urban. I’m a Seattle native and crave spending time in the city. The Pike Place Market is one of my favorite spots. I always leave the market with produce in one hand and fresh flowers in the other. It’s my ritual, and I’m a firm believer we all need rituals to celebrate the fullness of life.

I’m a self-proclaimed nerd. I just can’t help it. Classrooms make me giddy and the feel of a good book makes my heart happy. (So nerdy, right?) I’ve loved learning since I was a little girl and that hasn’t ever changed. Over the years, I’ve become convinced a good education is a girl’s best-friend and a woman’s biggest asset.

Just kidding! I’ve never been a model. But as a woman, I know what it’s like to want to be beautiful. I also know what’s it’s like to want to be fit and healthy. Since this is the only body I get on this side of Heaven, I’ve decided to fall in love with it and take good care of it. I’m a big fan of solid sleep, good nutrition, and sweaty workouts.

I’ve traveled the globe and have been forever changed by the tender circumstances on the other side of the world. Through volunteering and charitable giving, I’m compelled to leave the planet better than I found it. I’m particularly passionate about ending sex slavery and inspiring foster and orphan care. What global causes stir your heart?

No, not the superhero. I’m a woman who wonders how I became so lucky. I have the best job on the planet! I love my place in young women’s lives and I treasure the conversations they invite me to share. I’m a firm believer we all need a place to take off our shoes, “let our hair down,” and be ourselves. It’s one of the greatest joys in my life to create that space. I hope you feel that when we’re together.

For over a decade, I’ve had the honor of working with young women and their families. In both private practice and agency settings, it’s been my privilege to come alongside teens and women of many racial and ethnic identities, socio-economic resources, and spiritual beliefs.

Trained as a family systems therapist, my primary approach for viewing our lives is based in Narrative Therapy. This way of therapy views our problems as often existing outside ourselves, found in our community and culture and impacting our lives in particular ways. I’m especially passionate about how gender and culture shape the lives of girls and women.
